The Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society’s Heritage Sunday is being celebrated for the first time on June 13, 2021. This date was chosen because it is close to the 87th anniversary of the June 25, 1934, merger of the Reformed Church in the United States and the Evangelical Synod of North America. June 25 also marks the date in 1957 when the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Christian Churches joined together as the United Church of Christ.
